Okay, so I’m thatgirl376. I just turned 33 in February, graduated from college in December, and tragically I still live with my parents. I had been working and going to school full time for the better part of a decade. Well a couple of years ago I decided to quit my job and focus all of my attentions on my education. At the time this seemed like a great idea, I mean everyone said that once I finished school I wouldn’t have to worry about dead-end jobs anymore, I’d be able to start a “career.” What know one realized or anticipated was that I would graduate just in time to be one of the millions of unemployed Americans affected by the current economic crisis. As a matter of fact, my graduation was timed so perfectly that the month after I graduated the government announced that the country was in a recession, possibly followed by a depression.
So five months and an infinite number of applications and resume submissions later, I have yet to even be offered an interview, let alone a job. This purpose of this blog is to hopefully track my transition from loser living in my parents house, to independent career woman. Oh yeah, there will be men...I hope.
